'I've been going now for three years nonstop and it feels right for me to just go home and just live my life and be a 23-year-old,' says Smith of his plan to take a break.

AceShowbiz - The past few years in Sam Smith's career have been amazing, but he's getting ready to step away from the spotlight to take a well deserved break. Speaking to ET Online during last weekend's "We Can Survive" concert which featured him as one of the performers, the British singer said that it's time for him to go home and find new love before he puts out his sophomore album sometime in the future.

"I am sad, but also it feels right," Smith told the publication, adding that his set during the Saturday, October 24 event held by CBS Radio at the Hollywood Bowl in honor of breast cancer awareness was his "last performance in America" and he's glad it was done "in such a beautiful setting."

"I've been going now for three years nonstop and it feels right for me to just go home and just live my life and be a 23-year-old," he went on explaining. "My love life, the downs and ups, it never stops, so I'm always inspired by stuff like that, but it'd be good to spend some time dating."

Smith, however, didn't say when exactly his planned hiatus would start. For now, he's preparing himself for an upcoming performance with Disclosure on "Saturday Night Live". He's also expected to make appearances at some awards events next year as his "Spectre" song "Writing's on the Wall" is currently in contention to be nominated at the 2016 Golden Globes and Academy Awards.
